HCID had a busy summer, hosting and attending community meetings to share information about the coming construction at Ninth Avenue and Alder Street and the relocation of the Pioneer Square Clinic to the Duncan Building.
Ninth and Alder
The project team from Ninth and Alder held a public design feedback meeting in July, joined the Yesler Terrace Community Council in August, and attended the First Hill Improvement Association’s Design and Public Space Committee meeting in September. Each of these events offered an opportunity for the community to ask questions and give feedback about the project. Thank you to all who attended and made their voices heard.
Pioneer Square Clinic relocation
The project team from the Pioneer Square Clinic relocation held a community meeting in August in the Duncan Building to allow neighborhood community groups to learn more about the project and tour future clinic space. The clinic will only move about two blocks from its current location at 206 3rd Avenue to the Duncan Building, but the new space will improve the experience of staff, clinicians, and patients, and increase the visibility of the Clinic from the street. We are also pleased to report that the Washington State Department of Enterprise Services’ Project Review Committee in September approved the project for using the progressive design-build construction delivery method, allowing the project to move forward to procurement.
