HCID is midway through designing the parking structure to be built at Ninth Avenue and Alder Street that will serve as additional parking to support the Harborview campus during construction. We hope to break ground on this project in January 2027. 

We are currently moving through the permitting process and are working closely with the City of Seattle to ensure the city issues permits as quickly as possible to meet this timeline. The project team had its design for an underground garage and building atop the garage accepted at its design review meeting with the City and the Design Review Board on Sept. 23, marking a positive step forward in the process.  

We plan to later build the medical office building above the Ninth and Alder parking structure, but that construction has no funding identified. Read more about the Ninth and Alder project.
