Sometimes you have to tear down the old to build the new. And that’s what we’re doing this month as Andersen Construction demolishes Harborview Medical Center’s old Facilities Building.

The multipurpose structure built in the 1980s served in many capacities, including as a construction office for a new campus building, Harborview Facilities office, and COVID testing and vaccination office.

Coming later in the year, the Bond Program will construct a new multi-story modular building to house the new inpatient tower design and construction teams, and necessary King County and UW Medicine team members.

Christian Albers, Project Engineer at Andersen Construction, provided an update on the work – Watch Now.
