King County’s Harborview Bond Program has become King County’s newest division as the Harborview Construction and Infrastructure Division (HCID), under the King County Department of Executive Services (DES).
“The core work of the Harborview Bond and the County is to care for the citizens and create a place where all can thrive,” said Tony Wright, HCID Director. “The new division allows for focused efforts on the Bond and other construction projects for maintaining a world class medical facility.”
HCID began as the Harborview Bond Program in the County’s Facilities Management Division following the overwhelming 2020 voter approval of $1.74 billion in bonds to support health, safety, and infrastructure improvements at Harborview Medical Center.
The Bond-funded work completed by HCID will continue to be referred to as the Harborview Bond Program. HCID’s additional projects will be funded through other sources.
Harborview, the region’s only Level I trauma center, is owned by King County and operated by UW Medicine.
