King County released the names of the shortlisted construction firms that will be issued the Request for Proposals for Progressive Design-Build Services for Harborview Medical Center and Infrastructure Improvements, in early January 2025.
The evaluation panel selected three firms (listed alphabetically):
- Hoffman-Lewis, LLC
- M.A. Mortenson Company
- Sellen Construction Co. Inc.
The shortlisted firms will have an opportunity to submit proposals for the progressive design-build (PDB) project.
The Harborview Bond Program will expand essential services at the medical center, including new single-patient rooms, an enlarged emergency room designed with advanced technology, and sustainable infrastructure to support the campus addition.
A part of the rigorous evaluation process included reviewing documents that demonstrated each firm’s capacity to deliver on the project’s demanding requirements. The commitment to innovative design and environmentally-friendly practices underscores King County’s dedication to fostering a healthier tomorrow.
Following the submission deadline, the Harborview Bond Program will review submitted bids, select a Design-Builder, and onboard the Design-Builder to move toward breaking ground on construction in the following years.
