At the heart of King County’s Harborview Program stands a resilient woman who will retire at the end of September 2024 with nearly 40 years of public service. Leslie Harper-Miles’ career is a testament to the power of perseverance, advocacy, and the relentless pursuit of equity and social justice in a world that can often resist it.

A native of Seattle, Washington, Leslie has lifelong family and community ties to the Pacific Northwest. Her public service career started in 1986 in the Office of Performance, Strategy, and Budget, eventually landing in her final impactful role as the Harborview Bond Program Administrator.

Leslie has provided leadership in three Harborview facilities expansion projects over 30 years, resulting in four new buildings and over one million square feet of new and renovated spaces on the Harborview campus and vastly improving the ability to deliver high-level medical care to the region.

During her career, Leslie is proud of co-founding the Domestic Violence Awareness and Prevention Taskforce with leadership from the King County Executive’s Office, King County Sheriff’s Office, and the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office to strengthen the County’s internal response systems.

The University of Washington alum is a proud member of Mount Zion Baptist Church, Delta Sigma Theta sorority, and a vast list of organizations. She is a successful wife, and mother of three remarkable children.

The Bond Program team welcomes Director Anthony Wright who will enhance his senior leadership role while serving as Strategic Director for Infrastructure Implementation for the Executive’s Office.
