Leaders from the Harborview Bond Program gave a program update Nov. 13 to about 100 members of the Construction Management Association of America PNW Chapter at Ivar’s Salmon House in Seattle. Director of Harborview Construction & Infrastructure Tony Wright led the presentation, which covered the benefits of a progressive design-build construction model, background of the medical center and its partnership between King County and UW Medicine, and the project’s key deliverables and features.

Following the presentation, a panel of project partners took questions from the audience that addressed early learnings, challenges and benefits of a progressive design build model, and the intricacies of interfacing with state agencies on permitting.
