The Harborview Construction and Infrastructure Division (HCID) continues to turn its equity and social justice (ESJ) commitments into lived practice. The focus is clear: meet small businesses where they are and create real pathways into public work for minority- and women-owned business entities (M/WBE) and veteran-owned firms.
This spring, that commitment is showing up in rooms filled with candid conversations. At events like Alliance Northwest 2026, HCID joined one of the region’s largest gatherings dedicated to bringing together owners, prime contractors and small businesses. HCID also co-presented at the Design-Build Institute of America Underutilized Business Enterprises breakfast on April 8. Here the conversation shifted toward updates about the Bond Program and networking between the Bond’s design-builder and small businesses.
The momentum continues with the upcoming King County Outreach and Networking Event on April 15, where the division will deepen its engagement with local entrepreneurs navigating public contracting.
HCID is doing more than inviting businesses to participate; it is actively shaping conditions where participation can lead to success.
